| Eighty-six percent of the companies have internet access |

This year, 86,3 percent of the business entities from the financial and non-financial sector with 10 or more employees had access to the internet. The data from the State Statistical Office indicates that this year 94,7 percent of the business entities from the financial and non-financial sector were equipped with computers, 71,8 percent of them were using a LAN computer network, and 31,9 percent were using wireless LAN. Intranet, an internal communications network based on an internet protocol was used by 33,4 percent, whereas 20,6 percent of the business entities had extranet, authorized external access to their network. The most common internet connection is based on DSL technologies (such as ADSL, etc.), i.e. 71,8 percent of the business entities with access to the Internet had such an internet connection. 70,8 percent of the business entities with access to the internet, were mostly using it for banking and financial services, and 55,9 percent of the companies had their own website. Automatic data exchange with other business entities was performed by 29,1 percent of the entities, whereas internal automatic exchange of information within the business entity was performed by 48,4 percent of the business entities.
