Conference: “e-Panels: Fostering citizens’ participation and volunteering in a wider Europe” PDF Print E-mail

The Center for Regional Studies and Cooperation “Studiorum” and the Association of Local Democracy Agencies (ALDA) are organizing an International Conference to launch the project “e-Panels: Fostering citizens’ participation and volunteering in a wider Europe”.

The conference will mark the beginning of a one-year initiative, to be implemented in cooperation with the “House of Europe” from Caen, France, “FIB” from Spain, “Association for European Partnership” from Bulgaria, local democracy agencies from Osijek and Sisak, Croatia, “Horizont” from Albania and Studiorum as a partner organization from the Republic of Macedonia.

The First International Conference will be held on March 3-4, 2010 in Hotel Karpos, Skopje, Republic of Macedonia.

The E-panels project is aiming at developing a sense of European identity, based on common values, history and culture, giving to the citizens the opportunity to interact and participate in a broader Europe through debates about how to improve citizens’ participation, with a focus on tools or processes such as ICT tools and the process of volunteering.  The purpose of using these tools is to promote the sense of belonging to the European Union, to increase tolerance and mutual understanding between European citizens, to respect and promote cultural and linguistic diversity, contributing to intercultural dialogue enriched.

The event will also be attended by representatives of the Metamorphosis Foundation.
